Outdoor Drinking: North Sound Breweries Edition
Summer is here! That means it’s time to hit up breweries with wonderful outdoor seating areas. So I took one for the team and went out and visited as many breweries as I could. For you.
Here are my top 5 (plus 1), of the under the radar breweries with great outdoor areas.
At-Large: I’ve been beating the drum of At-Large for a while now. Known for making some delicious hazy IPAs, this Everett brewery has gotten more and more popular and for good reason. They make great beer. Enjoy a pint, get a glimpse of the Puget Sound and get some sunshine. - https://goo.gl/maps/NQbX4z8tiUXLKPTz8
Stones Throw: One of the coolest spots you can visit in the Bellingham area. Located in the very trendy Fairhaven neighborhood in Bham, Stones Throw put in a lot of time and effort creating their brewery. With two different outdoor areas and foosball, Stones Throw is a must visit for a beer outside. - https://goo.gl/maps/2W1fiGyzSUaF3dZw8
Gruff: I know most who have been to Bellingham have been to Gruff, but to me, they have one of the best outdoor seating areas in the city. Plenty of bench seating, food trucks on the weekends and music playing, this is a great spot to enjoy a tasty beer and get some of that Bellingham sunshine. - https://goo.gl/maps/EuPj6iQFpF6peWGW7
Farmstrong: While personally I love hazy beers, but if you want a brewery who makes some wonderful lighter and more traditional beers (don’t worry, they have a hazy too) AND have a giant outdoor seating area with bench seating, Farmstrong is your place. Located right off the highway, if you’re going southbound on I5 through Mount Vernon, you have seen this brewery. Stop by, enjoy the summer and drink one of their lagers. You won’t regret it. - https://g.page/farmstrongbrewing?share
North Fork: Throwing people for a curveball and picking something thats way off the beaten path. But having stopped there a few weeks back, what a very cool brewery if you’re out hiking the Mt. Baker area. Located off the Mount Baker Highway in Demming, this brewery has some good beers and delicious pizzas. Highly recommended for those out in that direction. -https://goo.gl/maps/Nr99hGGCXpbZHRh96
Birdsview: Also off the beaten path on Highway 20, this little brewery boasts a big outdoor seating area. For those coming back from a long weekend on Ross Lake, or for those that want to start a brewery tour on their way around the North Cascades, stop off at Birdsview and enjoy the sunshine. And you can finally tell everyone that you’ve been to Concrete, WA. - https://goo.gl/maps/si5m5DvrBoZDfcY76
